Polyvinyl Ethers (PVE) for Adhesives and Sealants

Gantrez™ AN-119 by Ashland is a linear, alternating methylvinylether/ maleic anhydride copolymer. Used as an intermediate in adhesive applications. It forms highly polar, hard, tack-free, and clear films. It provides good adhesion on metals, some plastics, paper, and glass. Additionally, Gantrez™ AN-119 is hygroscopic in nature.

Gantrez™ AN-169 by Ashland is a linear, alternating methylvinylether/maleic anhydride copolymer. Used as an intermediate in adhesive applications. Gantrez™ AN-169 provides transparent and tack-free films.

Lutonal® I60 80% Benzene by BASF is polyvinylether resin in 80% benzene. It is used in solvent-based packaging and laminating adhesive formulations.

Lutonal® M 40 by BASF is polyvinylmethylether. It is used to enhance the adhesion and quickstick performance of adhesives based on dextrin on metal and on painted and printed substrates. Lutonal® M 40 is designed for packaging and laminating adhesive formulations.

Gantrez™ AN-139 by Ashland is a linear, alternating methylvinylether/ maleic anhydride copolymer. Used as an intermediate in adhesive applications. Gantrez™ AN-139 provides transparent and tack-free films.

Lutonal® M 40 ca.50% in water by BASF is polyvinylmethylether, dissolved in water. It is compatible with nitrocellulose, natural resins, Laropal® aldehyde resins, Acronal® acrylic resins and Palatinol® plasticizers.

• Used as an adhesive raw material suitable for packaging applications such as wet labeling and can labelling.
• Lutonal® M 40 ca.50% in water makes the adhesive film softer and more flexible.

Lutonal® A 50 50% Ethanol by BASF is a plasticizing soft resin. It also acts as an adhesion promoter. It is hygroscopic in nature. Recommended for solvent based adhesive formulations. Lutonal® A 50 50% Ethanol is used in packaging and laminating adhesives.

Lutonal® I 60 CA. 80 % in Mineral Spirit by BASF is polyvinylisobutylether of medium molar mass dissolved in mineral spirit. Used as an adhesive raw material suitable for packaging applications such as wet labeling and can labeling. Lutonal® I 60 CA. 80 % in Mineral Spirit is processed to pressure sensitive adhesives for self-adhesive articles.

Gantrez™ AN-149 by Ashland is a linear, alternating methyl vinyl ether/maleic anhydride copolymer. It is used as an intermediate in adhesive applications. Gantrez™ AN-149 provides transparent and tack-free films.

Lutonal® A 25 by BASF is a plasticizing soft resin. It also acts as an adhesion promoter. Lutonal® A 25 is used in packaging and laminating adhesive formulations.
