Adhesives and Sealants Formulations with Polyvinyl Acetate Emulsions & Derivatives (PVAc)

Polyvinyl acetate emulsions are known for their excellent adhesion to cellulosic materials, good flexibility, and easy application. PVA emulsions perform exceptionally well in woodworking, packaging, and bookbinding applications where their ability to bond effectively to paper, wood, and other porous materials. 

Market developments include formulations with enhanced water resistance and faster setting times. Several variants exist including homopolymer PVA for general applications and copolymer versions incorporating ethylene or other monomers for improved flexibility and water resistance, and cross-linkable PVA emulsions contain additional functional groups that react during curing to enhance heat and moisture resistance.
