Polyolefin Resins for Adhesives and Sealants

Licocene® Terra by Clariant is a sustainable m-PO polymer designed as a formulation component for hot-melt adhesives and other industrial applications.

A-C® 1375 by Solstice Advanced Materials is a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) homopolymer stabilized with antioxidant. It acts as a viscosity diluent in HMAs. It improves surface properties such as rub, mar and abrasion resistance by lowering the COF. A-C® 1375 works as a substitute for FT (Fisher Tropsch) wax in adhesive applications without detracting from formulation properties.

VESTOPLAST® 807 by Evonik is a hard and crystalline polyalphaolefin grade. It offers increased tear strength, high softening point, high viscosity, good thermal stability under load and short open time. It is ideally suited for adhesion on polypropylene. VESTOPLAST® 807 is used in hot melt adhesives for automotive and woodworking industry. It is AIIC, DSL, TSCA, ChemO, IECSC, RECAH, ENCS, KECL, INSQ, NZIoC, PICCS and TCSI registered. It has a shelf life of 3 years.

VESTOPLAST® 888 by Evonik is amorphous polyalphaolefin grade. It offers benefits such as high viscosity, good thermal stability under load and short open time. VESTOPLAST® 888 is used in hot melt adhesives for woodworking industry.

REXtac® APAO 2585 by REXtac is polyolefin based on copolymers of high ethylene and propylene. It provides inherent moisture resistance, chemical resistance, inherent tackiness etc. It is resistant to acids, alkalis and other chemicals making it suitable for environments where the adhesive and sealant systems are exposed to such conditions. It is compatible with solvents, tackifiers, waxes, styrene block copolymers which make it highly sought after resin for adhesive manufacturing. REXtac® APAO 2585 has applications in the manufacturing of hot melt adhesives and sealant systems.

Eraclene® BC 82 by Versalis (Eni Group) is a high-density polyethylene. Used as a base component for the production of thermo-fusible adhesives in the packaging, binding, assembly and wood sectors, in gaskets, seals for stoppers, and seals for alimentary use. Eraclene® BC 82 offers perfect balance of processability, mechanical properties, performance and price.

Lucofin® 1400HN by Lucobit is a thermoplastic polyolefin. It is a polar copolymer consisting of ethylene and butyl acrylate with low crystallinity. Due to its chemical structure it is softer and more flexible than ethylene homopolymers with comparable density. Lucofin® 1400HN is environmentally sound. Offers flexibility, good mechanical properties, high end use temperature and good compatibility as well as filler acceptance.

Clearflex® CL 106 by Versalis (Eni Group) is a linear low-, very-low- and ultra-low-density polyethylene. High performance butene, hexene and octene copolymers. Used in extendible, adhesive layer for stretch film, stretch, stretch bubble wrap, stretch with high optical properties. Clearflex® CL 106 offers a very good balance of processability, mechanical properties, performance and price.
