Fluorescent Whitening Agents / Optical Brighteners for Adhesives and Sealants

OMNISTAB OB by Deltachem(QingDao) is a fluorescent whitening agent. It offers heat resistance, high temperature-, high chemical stability and good compatibility. Product properties will depend on the actual reactive monomers, oligomers and additives utilized.

Bright 100 (OB) by MPI Chemie is a high molecular weight, optical brightener (fluorescent whitening agent). It is 2,5-thiophenediylbis (5-tert-butyl-1,3-benzoxazole). It is designed for use in adhesives & sealants. Bright 100 (OB) must be used in combination with a UV absorber. Due to the intrinsic light fastness properties Bright 100 (OB) is recommended for indoor use only.

Benetex® OB by Mayzo is an optical brightener, fluorescent whitening agent. Heat resistant, chemically stable fluorescent whitener that provides brighter looking colors. Used to offset the yellowness of a polymer and to yield a whiter appearance. Creates brilliance by absorbing UV light, modifying the wavelength of the light and then emitting the light in a fluorescent fashion. Benetex® OB can be used to impart brightness to various thermoplastics, including: polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene, cellulose acetate, polystyrene, linear polyester, and polyamides.

Tinopal® OB CO by BASF is benzoxazol, a solid optical brightener. Exhibits brilliant bluish whitening effects, excellent heat resistance, high chemical stability and good compatibility in a wide range of resins. Tinopal® OB CO is used in adhesives and sealants.

2,2-(2,5-Thiophenediyl) Bis[5-(1,1-dimethylethy)]. Acts as a optical brightener of thiophenediyl benzoxazole class. Exhibits excellent heat resistance, light fastness, low volatility and whitening properties. It is highly effective in PVC, PE, PS, ABS and PP. Used in adhesives and packing applications.

Bright 420 (KCB) by MPI Chemie is a fluorescent whitening agent. It is 2,2'- (naphthalene-1,4-diyl)bis (benzoxazole). It absorbs invisible ultraviolet radiation and re-emits it as visible light in the blue range of the spectrum. Bright 420 (KCB) is insoluble in water but soluble in ordinary organic solvents. It can be used in adhesives.

Optical Brightener OEF by Shandong Subang Fluorescence Technology is an eco-friendly grade. It shows good stability, purity, weatherability and migration resistance. Optical Brightener OEF offers high efficiency. It is used in hot melt adhesives.

SPERSEBRIGHT OB by Interspersal is a heat resistant, solvent-soluble, optical brightener It has low volatility and excellent thermal stability. It is easier to dissolve and disperse. It can be used in combination with antioxidants and certain UV stabilizers that absorb UV-B radiation. It is FDA cleared for use in all polymers (refer to FDA 21 CFR §178.3297). It is applicable in styrenic polymers and adhesives and sealants.

Tinopal® SFP by BASF acts as a fluorescent whitening agent. Offers brilliant bluish whitening effects, anti-stain properties and high water solubility. Tinopal® SFP is designed for water-based adhesives.

Tinopal® OB by BASF is a 2,5-thiophenediylbis(5-tert-butyl-1,3-benzoxazole). It is a high molecular weight optical brightener / fluorescent whitening agent of the thiophenediyl benzoxazole class. Offers excellent resistance to heat, exceptional whitening properties, good light fastness and low volatility. It has a brilliant bluish cast, is readily soluble in organic solvents and features good compatibility in various substrates. Suitable for the optical brightening of polymers at all stages of processing. It is highly effective in polymer substrates such as engineering plastics such as polyesters, polycarbonate, polyamides and acrylics, thermoplastic polyurethane, polyvinylchloride, styrene homo- and copolymers, polyolefins and other organic substrates. Tinopal® OB is used in synthetic leather, adhesives and packaging applications.
