Epoxy Resins for Adhesives and Sealants

Resi4^TEST Solvent based by ResiCare is a phenolic resol resin that does not contain SVHC in an alcoholic solvent. It is a substitute of RF (resorcinol-formaldehyde) resins or phenolic resins used in composite processes such as prepreg, contact molding and thermocompression.

• It is free of phenol, formaldehyde, resorcinol and isocyanates.
• It is compatible with a large diversity of glass or carbon fabrics.
• Resi4^TEST Solvent based has a shelf life of 1 month after production at 20°C and 3 months at 4°C.

Cardolite® NC-514 is a diglycidyl ether epoxy resin. Cardolite® NC-514 provides excellent flexibility, outstanding water resistance, and increased bond strength on difficult substrates like wet or oily surface. Cardolite® NC-514 is considered bio-based alternative for Bis-A based epoxy resin. It is recommended for 1K/2K epoxy adhesives and sealants as a toughener. It is used in industrial, transportations, and electrical/electronic adhesives to provide toughness, flexibility and water resistance.

ACRYSET™ BPF307 by Nippon Shokubai is a bisphenol F-type epoxy resin toughened with finely dispersed, cross-linked acrylic rubber particles. It can be applied to a wide variety of industrial applications. It provides excellent toughness & durability, heat- & crack resistance, high adhesive strength and internal stress relaxation effect. ACRYSET™ BPF307 is recommended for adhesives, sealants and laminated plates.

ACRYSET™ BPA328 by Nippon Shokubai is an epoxy resin toughened with cross-linked acrylic rubber particles finely dispersed in a matrix of bisphenol A. It offers excellent toughness, durability, high adhesive strength and internal stress relaxation effect. It exhibits heat- and crack resistance. ACRYSET™ BPA328 can be applied to a wide variety of industrial applications. It is suitable for use in adhesives, sealants and laminated plates.

EPON™ Resin 862 by Westlake Epoxy is a low viscosity, liquid epoxy resin manufactured from epichlorohydrin and Bisphenol-F. It contains no diluents or modifiers. It may be used as the sole epoxy resin or combined with other resins such as EPON™ Resin 828. When blended, it offers an effective way to reduce viscosity without compromising chemical and solvent resistance. The resulting resin also demonstrates improved resistance to crystallization compared to neat liquid Bisphenol-A or Bisphenol-F type resins.

• When EPON™ Resin 862 is cross-linked with appropriate curing agents, superior mechanical, adhesive, electrical properties can be obtained.

Cardolite® LITE 514HP by Cardolite is a flexible di-functional glycidyl ether epoxy resin based on cashew nutshell liquid technology. It is designed to be used in conjunction with traditional epoxy resins or as a sole resin to increase flexibility and toughness. It is a higher purity version of NC-514.

• It offers superior durability through improved water and chemical resistance without adversely affecting other properties.
• Cardolite® LITE 514HP is suitable for use in 1K/2K epoxy adhesives and composite applications.
• It is recommended for building & construction, industrial assembly, transportations and electronics.

Araldite® MY 9512 by Huntsman is a N,N,N',N'-Tetraglycidyl-4,4'-methylenebisbenzenamine based tetrafunctional epoxy resin. It is an aero grade. It exhibits medium viscosity. Provides outstanding performance characteristics at elevated temperatures. It has exceptionally good long-term high temperature performance, high mechanical strength retention and extremely low shrinkage. Possesses excellent chemical resistance, radiation stability, outstanding heat resistance and deflection temperature. Araldite® MY 9512 is used in high performance structural adhesives and high energy radiation resistance components. Also used in exterior vehicle (OEM), interior vehicle (OEM), vehicle assembly (OEM), battery cover sealing & battery assembly, cable sealing, motor and magnet bonding, potting and encapsulating, assembly, thermally & electrically conductive, household appliance assembly, sporting goods, medical device assembly, aircraft & aerospace, marine, rail, recreational vehicle, truck, sport & leisure in adhesive applications.

EPON™ Resin 162 by Westlake Epoxy is a multifunctional epoxidized phenolic novolac resin with an average functionality of 2.2. It can be used as the sole resin component or in combination with standard epoxy resins. It has relatively low viscosity with good thermal stability, superior chemical resistance and ease of handling. It exhibits ease of processing. It is applicable for adhesives. EPON™ Resin 162 has a shelf life of 5 years.

EPON™ Resin 828 by Westlake Epoxy is an undiluted clear difunctional bisphenol-A/ epichlorohydrin derived epoxy resin. It provides very good mechanical, adhesive, dielectric and chemical resistance properties. It can be cured or cross-linked with a variety of curing agents depending on properties desired in the finished product and the processing conditions employed. EPON™ Resin 828 is used in construction, electrical and aerospace adhesives. The shelf life of this grade is 5 years.

LED405Med by Master Bond is a nanosilica filled, one-component, LED curable system. It does not contain any solvents and diluents. It cures fast without oxygen inhibition. It resists sterilization such as gamma, ethylene oxide and radiation.

• It also resists many chemicals such as acids, bases, fuels and oils.
• It bonds well to a wide variety of substrates including metals, plastics and glass.
• It provides optical clarity and electrical insulation.
