FutureChem® DM SIP
by FutureFuel Chemical Company
FutureChem® DM SIP by FutureFuel Chemical Company is the dimethyl ester of 5-sodiosulfoisophthalic acid. It functions as a monomer or comonomer to make polyester resins which are further used as a component of food packaging adhesives due to its ability to form strong bonds. It is used in fiber and film applications to improve the dyeing ability of polyester fibers with cationic dyes. It find applications in magnetic tapes to improve adhesion of polyester layers. It allows for the creation of water-dispersible or water-soluble polyester and polyurethane resins, replacing organic solvents for lower VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds). Moreover, it improves stain resistance in carpet and textiles.
