Carbonate Monomers for Adhesives and Sealants

DAXSOL® Glycerol carbonate by UBE is a USDA certificated bio-based, hydroxyl-functional carbonate. It can be used as an active solvent, diluent, plasticizer and compatibilizer in various applications, including electrolytes. It also acts as blocking agent for isocyanates which may be used in water-borne polyurethane dispersion for adhesives.

• It can react with amines to make urethane bonding.
• Due to its dual functionality, DAXSOL® Glycerol carbonate can also be used as synthetic intermediate for chain extensions and cross-linkage.

Propylene carbonate. It is a carbonate ester (chiral organic compound) derived from propylene glycol. Usually, it is a colorless and odorless liquid. Can be used as a polar, aprotic solvent.
