Caprolactam Monomers for Adhesives and Sealants

V-Cap™ RC by Ashland is n-vinyl-2-caprolactam. It is a pale yellow crystalline solid stabilized with 10 ppm N, N’-di-sec-butyl p-phenylenediamine. It accelerates UV curing rates as a reactive diluent. It imparts unique solution viscosity reduction and enhanced adhesion to non-polar substrates. It also imparts hydrophilicity, adhesiveness, strength & complexing capability. V-Cap™ RC is a super cooled liquid and can remain as a liquid at room temperature for extended periods. It has pyrrolidone ring and produces amorphous & hydrophobic polymers.

V-Cap™ /TP by Ashland is a reactive monomer used as a versatile, low-viscosity reactive diluent designed for adhesives. It can be handled as a super-cooled liquid and remains stable in liquid form at room temperature for extended periods. It offers faster cure speed, improved adhesion, and enhanced hardness.

Caprolactam by Grupa Azoty is e-aminocaproic acid lactam. It is offered in two states, white solid (irregular flakes) at 20°C, and colorless clear liquid above 70°C with no mechanical impurities. Caprolactam is used as a monomer for the production of polyamide, polymers, thermoplastics, resins and thermosetting resins.

IHT-FC BCL by IGM Resins is N,N'-Isophtaloyl bis caprolactam. It is a di-functional amido-chain extender. It offers good heat stability. Extended chain reaction occurs by coupling reaction of macromolecules through enhancing polymers molecular weight. IHT-FC BCL can be used for polyamide and polyester.
