Elkem raises silicone prices in Europe and Americas
Last update on Apr 24, 2026
Elkem has announced a price increase across its silicone product portfolio for customers in Europe and the Americas, effective immediately or as contracts allow. According to the company the price adjustment ranges from 10% to 30%, depending on product categories and market segments. The measure applies to Elkem’s silicone products supplied to customers in the specified regions.
Cost increase driven by inflation in key raw materials and chemical intermediates
The company stated that the decision reflects a sustained increase in Elkem’s cost base, driven by inflation in key raw materials and chemical intermediates, higher energy and utility costs, and continued pressure on transportation and logistics. Elkem also cited additional cost impacts include packaging, labor, asset maintenance, and ongoing volatility in global supply chains.
Elkem noted that efficiency initiatives have helped offset part of the cost increases to date, and sustained inflationary pressures now require pricing adjustments. According to the company, the measure aligns with broader pricing dynamics across the silicone industry, as manufacturers adapt to structurally higher input costs.
Elkem states that it continues to invest in the safety, reliability and maintenance of its industrial operations, as well as in the long term performance and sustainability of its silicone production assets. According to the company, these investments are essential to maintaining security of supply and consistent product quality.
