ASC announces winners of 2025 Innovation AwardsThe Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) held its 9th annual Innovation Awards at the 2025 Annual Convention & Expo in Jacksonville, Florida on April 15, 2025. The Innovation Awards recognize the top three innovations from the adhesive and sealant industry. Independent judges reviewed the following categories and weightings as part of their review process:

  • Science and Innovation (30%)
  • Applicability & Impact (10%)
  • Impact of the Technology Relative to the State of the Art (30%)
  • Qualifications, Experience and Capabilities (20%)
  • Significant Milestone (10%)

Recipients recognized at ASC 2025 Annual Convention


ASC judges reviewed submittal packages and the following are the winners of the 2025 awards:

The 2025 Innovation Award winner was 3M and Ryan McKenney, Chris Pattillo, Lili Qie, Andrew Horvath, Tom Schaefer, and Taylor Hodne for their development entitled for their development entitled '3M™ Fastbond™ Pressure Sensitive Adhesive 1049'. 3M's Fastbond pressure-sensitive, water-based adhesive matches or exceeds the performance of solvent-based adhesives, while significantly reducing VOCs. The PSA also utilizes a novel adhesive delivery system, leveraging a cylinder technology that allows for improved cylinder compatibility, resulting in better shelf-life of the product.

1st Runner Up went to WACKER with a development called 'GENIOSIL® STP-E140/GENIOSIL® STP-E340: The Next Generation of STP-E Technology'.

2nd Runner Up went to H.B. Fuller for a development titled 'Rapid Strength Hybrid Reactive Hotmelt Adhesives for use in Auto Assembly'.

'Our manufacturing members make products that are critical, and often unseen, for industry. Their products support the automotive, transportation, assembly, DIY, building and construction, packaging, and nonwoven markets, among others. This year's Innovation Award submissions support these very important market segments,' said Brian Peters, senior director of membership and industry programs.

'These innovative technologies take a lot of time, testing, research, and dedicated people behind the scenes. They are a testament to ASC's Vision for our industry that 'Innovators Secure the Future with Adhesives & Sealants',' added Peters.

ASC congratulates the teams at WACKER and H.B. Fuller as runners-up, and we congratulate the 3M's team as the official '2025 Innovation Award' recipient.
