Description of Desired Solution

A specific PEI or PEI / PET masterbatch used as an additive in PET to improve the Tg, the mechanical strength & the dimensional stability of the final formulation while maintaining transparency.

Detailed Solution Description

PET is a common polymer widely used in various film, foam, fiber, and packaging applications. Temperature limitations of PET are well known within the industry, but imagine the possibility of a solution that could improve the Tg, mechanical strength & dimensional stability of the final formulation while maintaining transparency?
A PEI additive could help enhance both thermal and mechanical properties of your PET. Flame retardancy and Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) of the final product may also be improved. In many cases, a PET/PEI material does not require significant changes to conventional PET processing methods.
We are looking for collaborators from the PET industry to validate this new solution!
