The continued growth in the use of HFFR compounds in cables poses productivity problems in manufacturing plants. Typically, HFFR cable production runs at speeds about one-third to one-quarter that of PVC cables. The combined effect of these two phenomena leads to a decrease in the monthly production of cables for each production plant with consequent economic damage.

Process innovations and new formulation strategies for HFFR are now available to enable a significant increase in the extrusion speed of the materials, thanks to the decrease in their viscosity and their tendency to absorb water which causes porosity in the cable.

In this webinar, Silma presents the new additives that will help technologists solve these problems and offer the market materials for high extrusion speeds, even in case of highly filled compounds like the HFFR materials for B2ca d0 classification for CPR.
