Addonyl® 8108 by LANXESS is a liquid activator, which is easy to dose. It enables short production intervals with lower process temperature. It acts as an activator during the production of cast nylon (PA-6 G). It is used in combination with the catalyst Addonyl® Kat NL. It has a shelf life of 24 months. Addonyl® 8108 recommended dosage is 0.5-0.7%. Addonyl® Kat NL is an approximately 18.5 % solid solution of sodium caprolactamate in caprolactam. It has a weak characteristic odor. Acts as a catalyst during the production of Cast Nylon (PA-6 G). It has a shelf life of at least 12 months. Addonyl® 8073 is a high-molecular weight polyol. It is produced through an anionic polymerization of caprolactam. During the pressureless casting process the monomeric caprolactam melt is poured into the mold and directly polymerized by a specific chemical reaction and then forms a semi-finished product or molding. It is used in combination with the catalyst Addonyl® Kat NL and the activator Addonyl® 8120 during the production of cast nylon (PA-6 G). Also used in rotomolding to prevent the formation of voids and pinholes. Its recommended dosage rate is 0.3 - 2.0 % by weight. Addonyl® TT is dimeric toluene-2.4-diisocyanate. Acts as an activator in cast nylon (PA-6 G) in order to extend the pouring time. Pyrogenous silicic acid (< 1%) is used as a fluxing agent. The product is easily soluble in molten caprolactam. The caprolactam melt containing the activator is susceptible to oxidation. It has a shelf life of 1 year. Addonyl® P is Aromatic polycarbodiimide. Acts as an activator during the production of Cast Nylon (PA-12 G or PA-6 12 G). With its use, a longer pouring time can be achieved. The product is easily soluble in molten caprolactam. The caprolactam melt containing the activator is susceptible to oxidation. It has a shelf life of at least 12 months. Addonyl®8112 is polyoxypropylene triamine. Acts as a liquid activator and is used during polymerization. It helps modifies the low-temperature impact strength of PA-6 G. The product is easily soluble in molten caprolactam. The caprolactam melt containing the activator is susceptible to oxidation. It has a shelf life of at least 12 months. Addonyl®8120 is solid blocked diisocyanate. Acts as an activator during the production of Cast Nylon (PA-6 G). Due to the low proportion of the final material, it is mostly dust-free and enables short production intervals at simultaneously los processing temperatures. It has a lower hazard potential than other comparable products, the same reactivity can be achieved by using a 15-20% lower quantity than with common activators. It is less hygroscopic than comparable solid activators due to the low caprolactam content. It has a shelf life of at least 12 months.
