CRX™ 1420 by Cabot is a carbon black. It offers very good treadwear resistance, high hysteresis, no excessive heat buildup, high dynamic modulus and good handling. It provides improved traction, high tensile strength and elongation. CRX™ 1420 is used in endurance racing, dirt track racing and Z-rated performance treads. CRX™ 1346 by Cabot is a special carbon black (100%). It is a very fine particle-sized product with much higher surface area than standard ASTM N200 and N100 carbon black products. It offers a unique combination of a very high hysteresis with high static and dynamic modulus. It provides higher stiffness and modulus than VULCAN® 1391 carbon black with abrasion resistance beyond ASTM N100 series carbon blacks. The rubber compound properties are critical to help grant excellent grip and a good handling performance. It is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and is insoluble in water. CRX™ 1346 is used in treads of ultra-high performance (>V speed rating) passenger car, racing and motorcycle tires. CRX™ 1490 by Cabot is a special carbon black (100%). It is a very fine particle-sized carbon black with a surface area much higher than the standard N100 ASTM carbon blacks and even beyond that of VULCAN® 1391 carbon black. It imparts high reinforcement to rubber and has a unique combination of a very high hysteresis, low static and a high dynamic modulus. It offers higher traction, better grip and better tire handling properties with higher durability than ASTM N100 and 200 type carbon black products. It gives higher hysteresis than VULCAN® 1391 carbon black to enable further enhancement in traction. It is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and is insoluble in water. CRX™ 1490 is used in treads of racing and ultra high performance (> V speed rating) passenger car and motorcycle tires.
