Copper (I) iodide by William Blythe is a heat and light stabilizer suitable in engineering polyamides. It is available as a free-flowing white powder and masterbatches. It is also applicable in conjunction with potassium iodide to counteract the destructive effects of heat and light on polyamides, preventing discoloration and preserving the mechanical properties of polyamides (Nylon 6 & 66) in technical and engineering applications. It can be used as a carrier of iodine where non-water solubility is required in biochemical pathways. Copper (I) iodide is manufactured to a rigorous standard, eliminating impurities that can lead to severe discoloration.
