Varox® DBPH by Vanderbilt Chemicals is a white liquid consisting of an emulsion of 46% assay of 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-di(t-butylperoxy)hexane in water. Used for the vulcanization or crosslinking of most elastomers and polyolefins such as EPDM, EPM and PE. The dialkyl peroxide can be used as an initiator (radial source) in the crosslinking of water-based polymers such natural rubber latex and Neoprene liquid dispersions.
  • Varox® DBPH is used extensively in FDA-approved indirect food contact and medical applications.
  • For most applications, 0.5 to 2.0 dry phr of emulsion is recommended.
