MDI (Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate). It is an aromatic diisocyanate having two isocyanate groups of equal reactivity. Hence, it is suitable for the preparation of linear polymers by reacting with diols and diamines. Used in the production of elastomers, artificial & synthetic leathers, spandex (polyurethane fibers) and shoe soles.
