Alcotex® 55-002H by Synthomer is a secondary suspending agent for vinyl chloride suspension polymerization. It is a colloidal dispersion of polyvinyl alcohol. It boosts PVC production output while reducing costs. It may be used in conjunction with conventional primary suspending agents. In optimized recipes, improvement can be obtained in the porosity/bulk density relationship. It offers better porosity that facilitates both monomer removal and plasticizer uptake. It has a random distribution of acetate groups. The shelf of Alcotex® 55-002H is 24 months.
