TERATE® HT 5500 by Stepan Company is an aromatic polyester polyol with improved flammability and physical properties. It delivers burn performance in industry testing, forming char with minimum shrinkage and high weight retention. It improves ease of processing during rigid foam production and adhesion to various substrates. It helps to reduce flame retardant loading and smoke development in polyurethane and polyisocyanurate rigid foam formulations. It can be used as a partial replacement of traditional polyether polyols with minor formulation adjustments. TERATE® HT 5500 is specifically formulated for hydrocarbon blown PIR laminate systems requiring a higher acid number.
