Poly (2,6-dimethyl-, 1,4-phenylene ether) (PPE). It is a medium molecular weight polymer based on polyphenylene ether (PPE). It improves properties like heat distortion and creep resistance. It is hydrolytically stable and non-hydroscopic. It is soluble in common organic solvents like toluene, chloroform and THF. Used as an additive or as a building block in a variety of thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomer like styrenics block copolymers. It has potential use in sheet/foil extrusion, food packaging, additive in thermoplastics and thermoplastic elastomers. It complies with the FDA regulation 21CFR 177.2460 and EU Directive 2002/72/EC.
