AID PE F5 by Polytechs is fluorinated copolymer (5%) based antifogging masterbatch in a LLDPE carrier. Provides improved bubble stability, haze reduction, improved gloss and higher output levels. It is used in LLDPE film extrusion to reduce melt-fracture and sharkskin when extruding linear olefin polymers. It works by modifying the interface between the polymer melt and the metal surfaces of the extruder barrel and die. It has a favorable effect on viscous molten polymers during extrusion and injection. It is also used in HDPE injection molding. FDA (21CFR 177.1520) regulations allow the use of AID PE F5 for films in contact with foodstuffs. It is used concentrations of AID PE F5 in LLDPE blown film are between 0.5 and 1.5%. AID PE F5 is not recommended if temperatures > 240°C.
