OmyaPET™ 21-AV by Omya is a new especially for PET functionalized calcium carbonate with unique benefits in PET processing. When producing masterbatch with it, a higher IV can be achieved than using other calcium carbonates. In the production of white-opaque PET milk bottles by stretch blow molding (SBM), it increases opacity and is an ideal complement to titanium dioxide, resulting in more economic and sustainable bottles.
  • White opaque BOPET films made with it, have a lower density than films made with titanium dioxide or precipitated barium sulfate and thus also have a lower carbon footprint.
  • In PET thermoforming, it can improve heat stability, even at high draw down ratios in a single step thermoforming process.
  • In PET injection molding, it can be used in higher concentration than talc with higher impact properties and increasing recycled content.
  • When 3D printing PETG with OmyaPET™ 21-AV, articles appear more opaque and light is scattered.
  • It is made of 100% PIR (Post Industrial Recycled) calcium carbonate certified by Bureau Veritas.
  • The recycled status of this material does not affect suitability for use in contact-sensitive applications (like Food Contact/Food packaging).
