Unilin™ 425 alcohol

Unilin™ 425 alcohol by NuCera Solutions (Chase) is a fully saturated, long chain, linear primary alcohol. It has higher molecular weight, greater crystallinity, and higher purity with an 80% primary alcohol concentration. Offers carbon chains lengths longer than those of conventional fatty acids. As a result, Unilin™ 425 alcohol offers higher melt points and hardness with improved compatibility in polyolefin as well as hydrocarbon based systems. Compatibilizes with polar polymers and reacts to form derivatives. Improves the compatibility with hydrocarbons, controls the melting point and lowers the melt viscosity. It is insoluble (<1%) in all solvent systems at room temperatures, limited solubility in ketones, aldehydes, esters/elevated temperatures and greatest solubility in aliphatics as well as aromatics/elevated temperatures.
