Butanox® HBO-50 by Nouryon is methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) for curing unsaturated polyester resins in the presence of a cobalt accelerator at room and elevated temperatures. It is suitable for the curing of laminating resins when a faster gelation and initial cure speed is required than can be obtained with Butanox® M-50. Butanox® HBO-50 is suitable for continuous laminating, resin transfer molding, hand lay-up and spray up applications. The shelf life of this product is 3 months. It is listed in TSCA.
