Bayferrox® 160 M by Lanxess is a high-performance, micronized iron oxide red pigment. It exhibits excellent dispersibility and shows resistance towards color change during high energy dispersion processes. As a result of the manufacturing process (Laux-process), which includes a high temperature calcining step, the pigment has a higher intrinsic hardness than other precipitated pigments. The high temperatures involved in the calcining process also give the pigment outstanding heat stability. It is suitable in flooring, rubber polymer and plastic industry in the field of wood plastic composites. Bayferrox® 160 M has a shelf life of 10 years.
