Primol™ 542 by ExxonMobil is a purified blend of saturated hydrocarbon. This grade is obtained from petroleum through purification by catalytic hydrogenation. It offers very good color and oxidative stability. It is used as plasticizer in polystyrene and external lubricant for non-plasticized PVC. It provides low volatility and is used at low oil content. It exhibits high molecular weight and maintains transparency. Primol™ 542 is recommended for food packaging and medical rubber articles such as EPDM & butyl rubber. It meets the requirement of following specifications including USA FDA 21 CFR 178.3620, US regulation (EU) 10/2011, National sanitation foundation, US & European Pharmacopeia.
