Polycat® 39 by Evonik is a glycol diluted tertiary amine catalyst. It exhibits medium viscosity and low activity for easy on-line dosing. It offers improved curing of rigid PUR systems and excellent performance in water co-blown rigid systems. It possesses delayed front end activity compared with strong blowing catalysts such as Polycat® 5. It is recommended for use as a co-catalyst with other polyurethane and polyisocyanurate catalysts, particularly in formulations with an isocyanate index of greater than 105–110. Polycat® 39 is used in a wide variety of rigid polyisocyanurate foam and non-foam applications. It has a shelf life of 36 months.
