HIFILL® N 400 by Covia is a functional filler, pigment dispersant and extender based on nepheline syenite. It is recommended for plastic and rubber applications. It offers high dielectric resistance, thermal conductivity, compressive strength and easy masterbatch processing with higher loadings. It provides reduced formulation cost, superior weatherability, low oil absorption and color extension in pigment dispersions. It exhibits excellent color stability as well as chemical-, scratch- and mar resistance.
- It is an all-natural, crystalline silica-free alternative to ground or microcrystalline silica mineral fillers.
- It imparts an optimal balance of physical, optical and mechanical properties, enhancing the durability of the final product.
- It shows brighter and less yellowness overtones in pigmented silicone elastomer applications.
- As compared with calcium carbonate, it exhibits superior UV resistance along with photochemical and abrasion advantages.
- HIFILL® N 400 is listed on Japan's Positive List and complies with EU Plastic Regulation No. 10/2011, RoHS, Kosher, CONEG and OSHA’s respiratory crystalline silica (RCS) regulations.
- It is NHC (China) and FDA approved for indirect food-contact applications.
- The recommended dosage level is up to 50% by weight of the polymer.
