Hostanox® OSP 1

Hostanox® OSP 1 by Clariant is a high efficient antioxidant and metal deactivator which prevents the auto-catalytic decomposition of polyolefins. It offers excellent thermal stability, good extraction- & migration resistance in applications with contact to liquid media, high contribution to OIT.

• It exhibits low volatility and has less impact on the color of the resin compared to other metal deactivators.
• Metal deactivators are used if the polyolefin based finished article comes into contact with transition metals, such as Cu, Fe, Ni, Ti, etc.
• It is very suitable for plastics in particular for polyolefins used in cable filler black carbon and fittings.
• Furthermore, Hostanox® OSP 1 leads to a remarkable improvement of the OIT value being required in polyethylene pipe applications.
• It is also compatible with cross-linked polyethylene.
• It has a shelf life of 3 years.
