Exolit® OP 1466

Supplied byClariant- Last Updated on Sep 7, 2023

Exolit® OP 1466 by Clariant is a highly stable, non-halogenated flame retardant based on organic phosphinates. It offers outstanding thermal stability, wide processing window, very good physical properties and excellent electrical properties. It achieves its flame-retardant effect through a combined gas- and condensed phase mode of action.
  • It exhibits low smoke- & material density, good colorability and good performance in cone calorimeter in low peak heat release.
  • It is suitable for applications in hot and humid environments.
  • Exolit® OP 1466 is designed for polyamide 6, polyamide 66, polyphthalamides and other high temperature polyamides such as PA 46 for both glass-fiber-reinforced and unreinforced grades.
  • In glass-fiber-reinforced PA6 & PA66, the recommended dosage level is 20-24% (by wt.) to obtain GWIT of 775°C and the UL 94 V-0 classification for electrical components (at 1.6 mm, 0.8 mm & 0.4 mm thickness).
  • In semi-aromatic polyamides, the recommended dosage is approx. 15% for UL 94 V-0 and GWIT of 850°C.
