CHITOSAN Lw by Chitelix is a reinforcing filler or compatibilizer in bioplastics (e.g., PLA, starch-based systems), where its reactive amino groups allow covalent or ionic crosslinking within the polymer network. Due to its higher solubility and processability, is particularly useful as a functional additive in polymer blends and composite formulations. It is also used as an antimicrobial and antioxidant additive in packaging plastics. It offers bio-adhesive, film-forming and antimicrobial properties. It is a natural polysaccharide obtained through the deacetylation of chitin derived from marine crustacean shells. It is produced through a sustainable circular approach.
