SAIB 80%

Sucrose acetate isobutyrate. Acts as a plasticizer. It is a high purity carbohydrate. It is a sugar derivative produced by esterification of natural sugar with acetic and isobutyric anhydrides. SAIB 80% is a 80%solution of SAIB with 20% ethyl acetate. Exhibits low volatility resulting in higher solids content and low color. Possesses compatibility with most polymers, resins, oils and waxes. It is employed as a modifier-extender leading to higher solids. The hardness of cellulose-nitrate films can be increased by the addition of SAIB. Improves flow properties and reduces surface imperfections. Used in food packaging foils. Complies with AICS, DSL, IECSC, EINECS, ENCS, KECI, NZIoC, PICCS, TSCA and REACH.
