PROPEL® E8 by Cabot is a high surface area, medium structure carbon black for high performance tire tread applications. It is designed to enable tires with lower rolling resistance without sacrificing its tread durability.
- It provides heat generation similar to ASTM N200 series carbon blacks, and modulus with abrasion resistance equal to ASTM N100 series.
- It is suitable for tire treads that also contain silica. The low hysteresis and high stiffness, allows a lower silica blend ratio, and has a positive impact on compound mixing, processing, and tread wear.
- It can be used in treads of medium & heavy commercial vehicle tire and retreads.
- PROPEL® E8 is also recommended for the treads of electric vehicles, including motorbikes, treads of light commercial, SUVs & passenger car tires.
