CRX™ 1490

CRX™ 1490 by Cabot is a special carbon black (100%). It is a very fine particle-sized carbon black with a surface area much higher than the standard N100 ASTM carbon blacks and even beyond that of VULCAN® 1391 carbon black. It imparts high reinforcement to rubber and has a unique combination of a very high hysteresis, low static and a high dynamic modulus. It offers higher traction, better grip and better tire handling properties with higher durability than ASTM N100 and 200 type carbon black products. It gives higher hysteresis than VULCAN® 1391 carbon black to enable further enhancement in traction. It is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and is insoluble in water. CRX™ 1490 is used in treads of racing and ultra high performance (> V speed rating) passenger car and motorcycle tires.
