SCONA® 12031 by BYK is a dispersing aid for polyethylene color concentrates to reduce the tendency to warp. It acts as a compatibilizer for blends of polyethylene with polar polymers to improve mechanical and optical properties. It is an excellent coupling agent for polyethylene wood and glass fiber compounds. It is a high-performance polymeric modifier based on high-density polyethylene (HDPE) functionalized with maleic anhydride. It is suitable for phthalocyanine or diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) pigments. It is designed for extruders, blow molding and injection molding machines. Recommended use level is 1-4% as coupling agent, 5-30% as compatibilizer and 40-80% as dispersing aid. SCONA® 12031 has a shelf life of 24 months.
