BYK® -306 by BYK is silicone-containing surface additive for ambient curing plastic systems with a strong reduction of surface tension. It improves the wetting of critical substrates, prevents cratering and increases surface slip. It is a solution of polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxane.
  • In pigmented systems, it can prevent the formation of bénard cells and improve leveling.
  • It is recommended for polyurethane and epoxy systems.
  • The recommended level is 0.1-0.5 % additive (as supplied) based upon total formulation.
  • It is listed in EINECS, TSCA, DSL, AICS, PICCS, IECSC, ENCS, NZIoC and ECSI.
  • It is in line with EU Directive 2011/65/EC (RoHS 2), EU Directive 2002/96/EC (WEEE), EU Directive 94/62/EC (Packaging Waste) and CONEG Toxics in Packaging.
  • It complies with REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.
  • The shelf life of BYK® -306 is 60 months.
