BYK® -1693 SD by BYK is a VOC-, mineral oil-, PFAS-, and silicone-free powder defoamer. It is blend of polyether and vegetable oils, adsorbed on an inorganic carrier.

- It reduces air void content and enhances both the workability of fresh mortar and the physical properties of the hardened system.
- It has good compatibility with various binder systems.
- BYK® -1693 SD contains 54% bio-based organic carbon content.
- It is used for aqueous mineral- and dispersion-bound building material formulations, especially for hybrid systems.
- It is used in waterproofing membranes (polymer cement mortar), concrete repair mortar (polymer cement concrete), skim coats, leveling compounds (self-leveling underlayment and self-leveling overlay), and screeds applications.
- Recommended use level is 0.05-0.5%.
