Supplied byBASF- Last Updated on Nov 19, 2025

Tinuvin® 213 by BASF is reaction product of methyl 3-(3-(2H-benzotriazole-2-yl)-5-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) propionate/ PEG 300. Acts as a UV absorber belonging to the hydroxyphenyl benzotriazole class.
  • Tinuvin® 213 offers ease of handling and incorporation.
  • Provides excellent UV absorption to protect polymers from photodegradation.
  • Imparts good light stability to a variety of polymers.
  • It is less volatile than many alternative UVAs so it provides greater permanence during processing or heat aging conditions.
  • It is useful in a variety of substrates and applications, including polyurethanes, liquid color concentrates, elastomers, styrene homo- and copolymers, PMMA, vinyl polymers (PVB, PVC), engineering plastics such as polycarbonate, polyesters and polyolefins.
  • The usage levels range from 0.15 % to 1.0%, depending on the substrate and performance requirements of the final application.
