Irganox® 565 by BASF is a 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-(4,6-bis(octylthio)-1,3,5-triazin-2-ylamino) phenol. It is a high molecular weight, non-staining, multifunctional phenolic antioxidant primarily used as a post-polymerization process stabilizer for unsaturated elastomers. It exhibits low volatility, and long-term thermal stabilization. It maintains excellent polymer color, prevents gel formation and changes to molecular weight. Irganox® 565 is suitable for polybutadiene (BR), polyisoprene (IR), styrene butadiene (SBR), nitrile rubber (NBR), carboxylated SBR latex, SBS, SIS, EPDM, ABS, high impact polystyrene, polyamide, and polyolefins applications. The recommended dosage level is 0.05-0.5%.
