2-Hydroxyethyl Acrylate (HEA) by BASF is a difunctional acrylate monomer. It forms homopolymers and copolymers. It exhibits scratch resistance, weatherability and low VOC. Copolymers of this grades are prepared with acrylic acid, its salts, amides and esters as well as with methacrylates, acrylonitrile, maleic acid esters, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene, unsaturated polyesters and drying oils. 2-Hydroxyethyl Acrylate (HEA) is used in the manufacture of polymers. 2-Hydroxyethyl Acrylate (HEA) readily undergoes addition reactions with a wide variety of organic and inorganic compounds. It has a shelf life of 6 months.
