ColorMatrix™ Lactra™ SX Light Blocking Additive

ColorMatrix™ Lactra™ SX Light Blocking Additive by Avient is a high performance, light blocking additive with visible light blocking technology for extended shelf life. It targets the UHT dairy PET packaging industry. This solid masterbatch additive is designed for ergonomics and shape differentiation for containers and lower system cost vs. other rigid packaging. It protects from visible-light induced oxidation due to ambient storage conditions. ColorMatrix™ Lactra™ SX Light Blocking Additive enables light blocking in single PET layer bottles, and offers the added advantage of design freedom. The light induced oxidation is minimized and properties & taste are preserved. It is easily added to PET using a single-stage process for monolayer injection process bottles, resulting in lower machinery costs. Also, leads to reduced production cost. It increases ease of pouring and offers light-weight for PET bottle without reducing light blocking performance. Recommended for 100% visible light blocking for monolayer containers and recyclable with general PET waste stream, even though additive is also present. It is used in re-sealable containers, lighter weight bottles and containers that can be stored flat after opening. This product is suitable for closed loop bottle-to-bottle recycling and PET recycle stream for fibers, sheet and strapping.
