Slip Control Agents for Plastic Compounds

Optislip™ 212 (Bead) by Cargill is a vegetable-origin, streayl erucamide-based slip and anti-block agent. It is a secondary amide additive that is used to obtain medium and controlled slip in polyolefins.

• It offers slower migration and is recommended in co-extruded and laminated structures.
• It exhibits good mold release in engineering polymers and excellent thermal stability.
• It is suitable for nylon and can be dispersed easily through the polymer in melt phase.
• It reduces coefficient of friction between surfaces and reduces unwanted adhesion.
• The recommended usage level is 500-2000 ppm in films and 0.2-1.0% in molding applications.
• Optislip™ 212 (Bead) has a shelf life of 180 days.

Slip masterbatch, reduces the coefficient of friction (COF) and improves surface finishing of products. Also improves productivity & performance. Small amounts of slip additives not only enhance the “hand” of film, but also aid in process ability. It can be effective in enhancing mold release properties. It has been recommended for the multilayer barrier and laminated film applications.

IP1061A by Ingenia acts as a slip agent. It is a pellet formulation containing high quality refined oleamide. It exhibits fast blooming slip behavior. It is designed for use in LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE film applications. It reduces the coefficient of friction immediately after extrusion and maintains this effect for a considerable time as oleamide continually migrates to the surface to replenish the lost surface layer. It is used in applications such as blown- and cast-film. It is capable of withstanding temperatures of 220°C without significant degradation during processing. It is free from dispersion aids, waxes or stearates. It does not contain animal-based ingredients. IP1061A complies with Title 21 of the US FDA and CONEG.
