Metal Deactivators for Plastic Compounds

GC AOX 1024 by Greenchemicals is a high performance phenolic antioxidant and as an effective metal deactivator for copper. It is 1,2-bis (3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyhydrocinnamoyl) hydrazine. It shows high resistance to extraction. It is recommended for polyolefin, polyamide and elastomers. GC AOX 1024 is suitable for applications in cables for telecommunications.

SOLVENOX MD-24 by Solvento is a metal deactivator and primary antioxidant. Contact with copper conductors causes accelerated oxidative degradation. It is used in XLPE/ PVC wire and telecommunication cable insulation. Offers outstanding copper deactivation and stabilizing the polymer matrix. Complies with REACH regulation. SOLVENOX MD-24 has a shelf life of 36 months.

VENLOAOX 1024 by Syntheo is a metal deactivator and primary, sterically hindered phenolic antioxidant. It is designed for polyethylene wire, cable resins, filled polyolefins in contact with copper NBR fuel hoses, X-SBR, SBR, styrene homo- and co-polymers. It offers effective protection for polymers against thermal degradation and metal-catalyzed oxidation.

1,2,3-Benzotriazole by Henan Qingshuiyuan Technology is benzotriazole, used mainly as a rust preventer, anti-freezing liquid component, antioxidant additive, emulsifier and water stabilizer. It also acts as an additive for high molecular materials (polyester and polyesteramide) to provide ultraviolet resistance and antistatic properties, photographic antifogging agent, copper mine flotation agent, and metal corrosion inhibitor. It also functions as a lubricant additive and metal deactivator. It is soluble in alcohol, benzene, toluene, chloroform, and dimethylformamide, and slightly soluble in water.

HOSTANOX® O 3 PWD distributed by DKSH is a highly efficient phenolic antioxidant with high resistance against hydrolysis, providing long term heat stabilization to polyolefins and polyamide especially for applications where the final article comes in contact with extractive media such as water, fat etc. Designed for masterbatch & compounders and polymer producers. ADK STAB CDA-1 by ADEKA Polymer Additives Europe is a multi-functional, sophisticated metal deactivator containing a heterocyclic group. It prevents oxidative degradation caused by copper or other metal catalysts in certain applications. ADK STAB CDA-1 is non-discoloring and suitable for polyolefins, ABS and other polymers.

Bionox 1024 by Bioray Chem is 2’,3-bis[[3-[3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl]propionyl]] propionohydrazide. Acts as a metal deactivator and antioxidant for wire and cable. Bionox 1024 can be used as the primary antioxidant or can be used in combination with hindered phenolic antioxidants (particularly BIONOX 1010) to achieve synergistic performance.

GC AOX 697 by Greenchemicals is an excellent phenolic antioxidant and metal de-activator. It is 2,2-oxalyldiamidobis [ethyl-3- (3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) propionate. GC AOX 697 is recommended for styrenic polymers and polyolefins in the presence of metal ions. It is used in combination with hindered phenolic antioxidant.

HOSTANOX® OSP 1 MICRO PILLS distributed by DKSH is a high efficient antioxidant and metal deactivator which prevents the auto-catalytic decomposition of polyolefins. The usage of metal deactivators is mandatory as long as the polyolefin based finished article comes into contact with transition metals, such as Cu, Fe, Ni, Ti, etc. It is used in masterbatch & compounders, polymer producers and rubber & elastomers. FutureChem® OABH by FutureFuel Chemical Company acts as a heat stabilizer and metal deactivator. It is used in polymeric cable and coatings to reduce corrosion of copper wire.
