Laser Marking Additives for Plastic Compounds

Iriotec® 8825 by Susonity is a color neutral laser marking pigment. For polymers that already show a slight reaction with the laser, it will enhance the effect and make laser marking an economic and reliable marking process. It is composed of mica (46-62%) and (Sn/Sb)O₂ (38-54%).

• Most transparent solution for laser marking in polymers, additional applications are laser welding, laser direct structuring for whitish to light colored formulations.
• It is compatible with polyolefins (PE, PP) and aromatic polymers (PC, ABS, SAN, PBT) for dark markings, in aliphatic polymers (PMMA, POM, PA) for bright markings even for fluoropolymers.
• It is suitable for transparent, light and dark colors marking.
• In strongly hiding formulations, 0.5% is suggested for optimum performance.
• Recommended dosage of Iriotec® 8825 in transparent applications should be >0.1%.

EXPLAZ™ HT-34D by Milliken is an optimized laser marking additive for polyamides. Provides a high-contrast marking at low loadings in engineering polymers. It combines fast laser response with controlled impact on appearance, facilitating reliable identification across demanding applications.

• It is designed for injection molding processing.
• Offers flexibility, good heat resistance and weatherability.
• It is compatible with IR & UV laser systems and has dark or light marking capability.
• EXPLAZ™ HT-34D is suitable for demanding applications such as cable and film marking.

Irasorb LM007 by Keeling & Walker is an antimony-free metal oxide designed as highly efficient laser marking additive for polymers. Irasorb LM007 is recommended to use an UV stabilizing system in combination with Irasorb LM007.

Irasorb LM005 by Keeling & Walker is an efficient combination of metal oxides designed for laser marking and laser direct structuring in various polymers. It provides strong, dark marks in many polymers.

• It strongly accelerates electroless copper deposition.
• Irasorb LM005 shows very good compatibility in light colored ABS, PBT, PVC and blue/grey PC.
• It is most recommended solution for PA6.
• It is thermally stable with very low Sb content. The recommended dosage level is 0.5-1.0%.

Irasorb LM001 by Keeling & Walker is a non-toxic combination of metal oxides designed as a laser marking additive for polymers.

StanoStat CPM10F by Keeling & Walker is an antimony-doped tin oxide.

• It act as a conductive filler with extensive use in coatings.
• It can be applied in transparent coatings with anti-static or static-dissipative properties
• StanoStat CPM10F may also be used in near-infrared absorbing coatings or as laser marking additive to create white mark on black polymers.
• It exhibits very good contrast for white marks on black PP, PE and ABS.
• It also possesses good dispersibility and cost efficient solution.
• The recommended dosage level is 0.5-1.0%.

Irasorb LM002 by Keeling & Walker is a polymer additive used in laser marking which produces permanent dark marks on a range of thermoplastics. It is excellent especially for ABS and PBT but also PP, PC, PVC, TPU. It is non-toxic and Sb-free grade.

Irasorb LM004 by Keeling & Walker is a non-toxic combination of metal oxides designed as highly efficient laser marking additive for polymers. It is a cost effective and very good all-round additive. Irasorb LM004 is suitable for PP, PE, PA, PBT and PVC. The recommended dosage level is 0.5-1.0%.

StanoStat CP5C by Keeling & Walker is a micron-sized antimony-doped tin oxide powder has electrical conductivity and infrared absorbing properties. It is a highly efficient laser marking additive for polymers. StanoStat CP5C is suitable as a filler or additive to plastic materials to impart infrared absorbing and anti-static properties.

Irasorb CTO M10 by Keeling & Walker is a highly efficient infrared absorbing material. It is designed to be used in solvent-based coatings, inks and for extrusion processes in the polymer industry. Irasorb CTO M10 is also designed as a laser marking additive to generate white marks on dark polymers.
