Dispersing Agents for Plastic Compounds

Armostat® 700 by Nouryon is a long-lasting, general purpose internal antistatic additive. It also acts as a dispersion aid to the pigment color concentrate.

• This semi-permanent, animal-based product is especially effective in film applications.
• Liquid alternative to Armostat® 300.
• It is used in various polymers such as PE, PP, PS, SAN, ABS and HIPS.

AClyn® 295A distributed by DKSH is a pigment dispersing agent for masterbatch in polar resin systems due to enhanced compatability with the resin carrier. It is zinc ionomer of EAA (ethylene acrylic acid) copolymer neutralized to 98%.

• It provides corrosion resistance, filler dispersion and increased tack.
• It is used in engineered plastics.
• AClyn® 295A is available in Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan and Philippines.

VALPOL GP-4350 by Greenchemicals acts as a processing-aid, dispersing agent and surface slippery promoter. It is a general-purpose additive designed for technopolymers, including high-temperature processing polymers such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), polysulfones, and polyether ether ketone (PEEK).

• It reduces the viscosity during melting while maintaining intrinsic viscosity, leading to lower processing temperatures (by 35-40°C), which extends the thermal lifespan of polymers, particularly those sensitive to heat like POM and wood-plastic composites.
• It avoids the extrusion "empties", problem that often occurs specially extruding polymers with different or "disordered" viscosities (in the fibers extrusion the phenomenon induces breakages).
• It enhances extrusion efficiency, preventing extrusion voids and improving polymer intermeshing in blends like acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS)/polycarbonate (PC), polycarbonate (PC)/polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), and polystyrene (PS)/polyethylene (PE).
• VALPOL GP-4350 also facilitates better pigment, filler, and glass fiber dispersion, improves mold release, reduces cycle times, and minimizes surface friction and wear on extruder components, particularly in glass fiber-reinforced polymers.
• Recommended dosage level is 0.25-1%.
• Higher dosage of up to 1.5-2.0% can be used without affecting the printability, weldability, or sealability of the polymers.

RHEOSOLVE™ D 5S distributed by DKSH is a dispersing agent for the household and industrial industry. It prevents soil and mineral redeposition and presents good chlorine compatibility. It is a ready to use polyacrylic acid, sodium neutralized in aqueous solution.

• It has a shelf life of 1 year.
• RHEOSOLVE™ D 5S is available in Canada.

Armostat® 1800 by Nouryon is an internal antistatic agent and it also acts as a dispersion aid to the pigment color concentrate.

• It is a semi-permanent, vegetable-based alternative to Armostat® 600.
• It is used in various polymers such as PE, LLDPE, PP, SAN and ABS.
• Due to its saturated alkyl chain it offers excellent thermal stability.
• It is suitable for higher processing temperatures.
• When heated at 60-65°C, it can be dosed as a liquid directly into the polymer by using a single or twin-screw extruder.
• Armostat® 1800 has a shelf life of 12 months.

A-C® 6A distributed by DKSH is low density polyethylene homopolymer. Acts as a dispersing agent in color masterbatch applications. It is also used as a gellant for hydrocarbon oils, a paraffin crystal nucleator in wax blends such as candles, and a viscosity diluent in HMAs.

• Used in cable flooding compounds, along with polybutene.
• A-C® 6A is available in Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Philippines and Malaysia.

HYDRODIS® RB 4385 distributed by DKSH is an anionic dispersing agent. It is a polynaphthalene sulphonates salts are stabilizers for latex(from natural or synthetic rubber) and act as dispersants of pigments and fillers used in the curing processes.

• It permits the addition of electrolytes during polymerization process (essential to control the viscosity) without subsequent instability during the reaction.
• HYDRODIS® RB 4385 is hygroscopic and has a shelf life of 24 months.
• It is available in Asia Pacific.

PALMESTER 3976 by KLK OLEO is pentaerythritol tetrastearate derived from renewable vegetable oils. It exhibits excellent lubricating properties internally and/or externally in PC and most engineering plastics. It functions as slip & anti-blocking agent, flow modifier, anti-static, dispersing- and mold release agent. It is used in appliances, personal safety/protection equipment, building & construction, electrical market, electronics/computer, fiber, textile and carpets. It is recommended for packaging, household, products/consumer goods, wiring & cables, pipe, hoses, fittings and urban equipment. PALMESTER 3976 is HALAL certified.

A-C® 400A distributed by DKSH acts as a dispersing agent for color masterbatch in stryenic resins and process aid for EVA-based wire and cable compounds. It is an ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) with a VA content of 13%.

• It provides the dual function of reducing application viscosity at melt as it can be added as a diluent.
• It is used in candles to provide paraffin crystal nucleation, adhesion to glass and fragrance retention.
• It is available in Australia, China, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand and Philippines.

A-C® 540A distributed by DKSH is a dispersing agent for color masterbatch in engineering resins. Excellent external lubricant for polyamide compounds. It is an ethylene acrylic acid (EAA) copolymer with an acrylic acid (AA) content of 5%. A-C® 540A is available in Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan and Philippines.
