Tokuyama Corporation to construct a second production plant for high-purity isopropyl alcohol (IPA) used in electronic manufacturing at Formosa Tokuyama Advanced Chemicals (FTAC).
Tokuyama and Formosa Plastics Corporation established FTAC as a joint to manufacture and sell high-purity IPA in Taiwan venture in October 2020.
Aiming to support supply stability for semiconductor market
According to Tokuyama, increasing complexity and multilayering in semiconductor manufacturing processes is driving demand for higher-quality high-purity IPA and reliable supply.
The company confirmed that the second plant will expand FTAC's production capacity to support anticipated market requirements.
Tokuyama stated that expansion will be built on capabilities it identifies as key strengths of its high-purity IPA business, including proprietary manufacturing processes, analytical capabilities, and quality control systems. According to the company, the additional capacity is aimed to support supply stability and technical services for customers in the semiconductor market.
