Greenchemicals officially welcomed Polichem Srl into their family, marking a significant milestone in the journey of innovation and sustainability.
Expands Solutions for Recycled Polymer Quality
Polichem, founded in 1989 by Dr. Franco Lo Giudice, has been developing advanced additives for engineering thermoplastic polymers. Their portfolio includes nucleating and clarifying agents, mould release agents, impact modifiers, chain extenders for PA, I.V. enhancers for PET, dispersing molecules, and high-performance stabilizers. Dr. Lo Giudice, a chemist with knowledge of polyamides and polyesters, has built a legacy that has now become part of Greenchemicals.
This merger is more than just a business move, it combines innovation and experience. Polichem's production site, analytical facilities, and application lab in Garlasco, near Milan, are now part of Greenchemicals, complementing headquarters in Desio.
Alongside low-environmental-impact flame retardants and additives, Greenchmicals is expanding its offerings with solutions designed to enhance the quality of mechanically recycled polymers.
'We consider this acquisition highly strategic and representing a crucial synergy to consolidate our role in the formulation of plastic additives internationally. We will widen our offer in terms of customized products for styrenics, polyolefins and engineering thermoplastic polymers, focusing more and more on sustainability of plastics. All Polichem products can be considered sustainable, since they can lower processing temperatures and allow for higher production rate. The overall performance improves, while higher percentage of recycled products can be used,' says Dr. Lorenzi, founder and CEO of Greenchemicals.
