Last update on May 6, 2026

Formulators and converters working on polyolefin and PET packaging structures can evaluate a new set of Milliken additive grades presented at Interpack 2026, running May 7–13 in Düsseldorf, Germany at booth C18, Hall 10.

The portfolio spans clarifiers for polypropylene (PP), barrier improvement agents for polyethylene (PE) films and containers, nucleating agents for PP, and UV absorbers for PET, all positioned as food-contact compliant. Milliken specialists will participate in Spotlight Forum sessions on May 11 and 12.

Featured food-contact compliant innovations at Interpack 2026 include:

  • Millad ClearX™ 9000- The PP-focused grades include Millad ClearX™ 9000, a clarifier designed to deliver optical transparency at reduced additive loading levels. According to Milliken, the grade improves additive compatibility, which the company reports to reduced downtime and faster changeovers for resin producers and converters.

  • Hyperform® HPN® - The Hyperform® HPN® nucleating agent range targets injection molding and thin-wall applications in homopolymer, impact, and block copolymer PP; Milliken states these grades deliver improved optical clarity, reduced haze, isotropic shrinkage, and faster cycle times.

  • LeneX™ UGN-52 - For PE structures, LeneX™ UGN-52 is presented as a barrier improvement technology applicable to HDPE and LLDPE films, containers, and pharmaceutical bottles; the supplier reports that the grade enables downgauging, reducing material use and part weight, while supporting mono-material designs and recycling compatibility.

  • ClearShield™- A UV absorber for PET packaging, is designed to limit ultraviolet light exposure to packaged contents while maintaining optical clarity, according to the company.

The future of packaging depends on how well materials and processes work together,” said Wim Van De Velde, executive vice president and managing director of Milliken’s plastic additives business. “At Interpack, we’re highlighting technologies developed to help our customers improve performance while enabling lighter‑weight and more recyclable packaging designs.”
