BYK Additives to present PFAS-free processing aid for extrusion applications at K 2025

Last update on Jul 14, 2025

BYK Additives will be presenting a new generation of process aids at this year’s K 2025 in Düsseldorf.

Optimizing production of films and fibers

The new polymer processing aid (PPA) BYK-MAX P 4110 is PFAS-free and also facilitates faster production speed, preventing melt fracture. It reduces build-up on dies, resulting in reduced cleaning efforts and, consequently, shorter downtimes for customers.

It was developed for use in polyolefins with the aim of optimizing the production of films and fibers, as well as other extrusion applications.

Until now, it was mostly the custom to deploy processing aids containing fluorine, since these ensured good throughput and flawless finished parts when processing polyolefins. BYK Additives has invested a great deal in research expenditure and converted its complete product portfolio to PFAS-free solutions.

BYK-MAX P 4110 customers benefit to the extent that they can now already replace processing aids containing fluorine (PPA) in their formulations without having to do without the accustomed advantages. Adapting the systems to this more environmentally friendly, PFAS-free process additive is technically straightforward, and no substantial process adjustment is required.
