Birla Carbon announces global restructuring for specialty carbon blacks and MWCNTs

Birla Carbon announced organizational changes that, according to the company, are intended to align its operations with evolving market trends and support execution priorities.
As part of the restructuring, the company said it will transition to an organizational model based on three business units: Asia, Americas & EMEA, and Specialty Materials.

Nanocyl™ MWCNTs and specialty carbon blacks: One global portfolio
Amit Kumar, currently chief manufacturing officer, Asia, will become the president, Asia, responsible for the Rubber Business in the region.
John Davidson, currently chief sales & marketing officer, will become president, Americas & EMEA, responsible for the Rubber Business in the region.
Shashank Awasthi, currently head of sales, Asia and Business head, China, will become president, Specialty Materials. Mr. Awasthi will be responsible for the Specialty Materials business globally including Specialty Carbon Blacks and Nanocyl™, MWCNT’s serving plastics, coatings, energy systems, and other non-rubber markets.
Zachary Combs, currently director of Technology for Energy Systems, will become head, Global Technology with responsibility for process and product development for Birla Carbon.
In conjunction with the organization changes, the Company will continue to assess its asset base aligned with market trends, leveraging major expansions in Asia, while demand has weakened in the Americas and Europe.
